Peterborough Rugby Club Celebrates Women’s Rugby Day this Saturday, July 5, 2025

The Peterborough Rugby Club is proud to host Women’s Rugby Day this Saturday, July 5, celebrating the strength, skill, and spirit of women and girls in sport. With four exciting home games lined up, this special day highlights the growing momentum of women’s rugby in Peterborough and the importance of creating opportunities for female athletes at all levels.

Fans are invited to come out and cheer on local talent as our U16, U18, and Senior Women’s teams take the field:

  • U16 Girls 2nd XV vs Oshawa 2: 11:00 AM

  • Senior Women 1st XV vs Toronto Scottish: 12:30 PM

  • U16 Girls 1st XV vs Kingston: 2:00 PM

  • U18 Girls 1st XV vs Kingston: 3:00 PM

“Women’s Rugby Day is a celebration of the incredible growth and talent we’re seeing in our community,” says Kait Hooper, Director of Rugby at the Peterborough Rugby Club. “Our junior girls program is now the largest in the club, which is a huge point of pride. Many of our athletes recently brought home OFSAA gold during their school seasons, and we’re excited to see that same excellence on the field this Saturday. Days like this are about showing young athletes what they’re capable of,  and showing the community just how powerful women’s sport can be.”

All games will take place at Nicholls Oval, home of the Peterborough Rugby Club. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Join us as we celebrate the passion, perseverance, and powerful future of women’s rugby in Peterborough.
